About us

We are an Australian family of five: Tim, Prue and three young kids - The Aviator, Miss Enthusiasm, Little Sister. We all come from Sydney, four of us having been born in the same hospital, and all of us able to curl our tongues, except Tim.

	Tim After a brief but stellar career in Risk Management, Tim realised that there was no point ignoring the call of his real love, history, and succumbed to his genetic predisposition to be a history teacher. He loves German wheat beer, Doctor Who, and is a science fiction nerd who loves to play the bassoon. He spends his spare time reading academic German for his PhD, which will be finished soon (Huzzah!)
	Prue A creative soul, Prue loves sewing and painting. A botanist by training, she taught Medicinal Botany and Pharmacognosy at university for almost ten years, but is now enjoying being at home with the kids. One day she will resume her career as an up-and-coming world-famous botanical artist, but for now she is content to potter in the kitchen, design and create embroidery and clothes, and research her family history.
	The Aviator With an abiding love of all things aviation, and a current obsession with Star Wars, The Aviator is going to miss being in the Australian Air League, but hoping that the local Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport will provide him with enough aviation interest to keep him going.
	Miss Enthusiasm Also known as The Loudest Member of the Family, Miss Enthusiasm lives life with gusto. She is looking forward to playing in the snow again, having forgotten that she had a love-hate relationship with it the last time she was in Germany.
	Little Sister The only member of the family never to have been to Germany, Little Sister has no concept of what life will be like, nor really what moving to the other side of the world means. She's likely to be the one who ends up with an enduring American accent, and no idea which country she really belongs to. However, she's cute and that should get her by!
